"1953 Marriage solemnized at St Mary's Church in the Parish of Beddington in the County of Surrey No. 191 Third October 1953 Idris David Heavers aged 26, a bachelor and Flying Officer Royal Air Force of 17 Stelvio Park Terrace, Newport, Mon., father Arthur Heavers, Secretary of National Union of Seamen, and Winifred Maude (otherwise Freda) Palmer aged 25, a spinster and Occupational Therapist of 93 Gink Lane, Wallington, father Alfred Davies Palmer, a Civil Servant. Married in the Parish Church according to the rites and ceremonies of the Church of England after Banns in the presence of us Arthur Heavers and Alfred D Palmer."

His first daughter was born in Emsworth in 1955 and second in Tostock, Suffolk in 1959.

His wife died in Harrow in 1994.

There are two entries in 192.com for Idris D Heavers in the Electoral Roll 2002 living in Rochester, Kent, ME2, and in the Electoral Roll 2013, living in Rochester, Kent, ME2, other occupants Dereek W and Kisten S Smith (son-in-law and daughter), William I Smith (grandson?) and Hannah M Smith (granddaughter?).
