Notes

Christening of Charlotte Hardy in the IGI on 4 August 1811 in Witley, Surrey, parents Thomas and Elizabeth Hardy.

There is an entry in the IGI for the christening of Ellen Hardy on 28 October 1838 in Witley, mother Charlotte Hardy and her death on 30 December 1850 (I believe this death is refering to the incorrect Ellen - there is an entry for the marriage of a Ellen Hardy to George Ferret in 1865 which would tie into the 1871 census and I suspect this death was the daughter of George and Harriet christened on 3 November 1839)

In the 1841 census as Charlotte Hardy aged 30, born in Witley and living with Ellen (daughter?) in Sandhills, Witley, Surrey.

In the 1851 census as Charlotte Hardy aged 39, born in Witley, Surrey, and a housekeeper living with Ann Smithers and her son (Jacob - Charlotte's future husband) at Brook, Witley, Surrey.

Marriage of Charlotte Hardy and Jacob Smither in FreeBMD in October-December 1855 in Hambledon (2a 171).

Marriage of Charlotte Hardy and Jacob Smither in the IGI on 22 October 1855 in Witley, Surrey.

In the 1861 census as Charlotte Smithers aged 49, born in Witley, and living with her husband (Jacob) at Crossways, Witley, Surrey.

In the 1871 census as Charlotte Smithers aged 59, born in Witley, and living with her husband (Jacob) and granddaughter (Mary E Ferrett aged 4 and born in Forest Hill, Kent - daughter of Ellen and George Ferrett?) at Crossways, Witley, Surrey.
