The original is almost illegible. "Banns of Marriage between John Goodbury and Elizabeth Langley both single and of this parish were published July 15th, 22nd & 29th [...] John Goodbury of this parish single man and Elizabeth Langley of this parish single woman Married in this Church ny Banns this thirtieth Day of July in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty One by me [...] This Marriage [...] solemnized between Us John Goodbury and Elizabeth Langley (both made their marks) in the Presence of Alice Langley and [...]."
All the children were born in East Rudham. The Norfolk Transcription Archive only lists eight (William, Alice, Henry, Sarah, Robert, Alice and Mary, and James Goodbury father John Goodbury). The first child may be named Ann Mary or Alexander, but is not in this list nor is Ann Mary born 1789. East Rudham Births does not contain any Goodbody (or Langley) entry for 1778 and this was before the marriage.
