Entry in FreeBMD for the birth of Charles Albert Fullick in January-March 1854 in Fareham (2b 427) which included Widley.
In the 1861 census as Albert Fullick aged 7, born in Cosham, Hampshire and living with his grandparents (Thomas and Sarah), uncle (Harry Fullick), three aunts (Eliza, Harriett and Maria), cousin (Jame), and two visitors (William Green aged 1 and born in Portsea, and Rosina Watson aged 3 and born in Gosport) in Cosham, Widley.
In the 1871 census as Albert Fullick aged 17, born in Widley, Hampshire, a shepherd and living with his grandparents (Thomas and Sarah), three aunts (Eliza, Fanny and Harriett Fullick), William (I suspect this was the William Green in the 1881 census), and cousin (Rosina Watson - daughter of Jane) in Cosham, Hampshire.
Marriage of Charles Albert Fullock and Margaret Alice Simpson in FreeBMD in October-December 1875 in Guisbro'/Guisborough (9d 1018) which included Skelton.
It appears that Bertha was born some six months before the marriage and her father is unknown. All the subsequent children died very young and from their information the family lived in Boosbeck in 1886/87, and then in New Maske.
In the 1881 census as Albert Fullick aged 25, born in Cosham, Hampshire, an ironstone miner, and living with his wife (Alice) and (step?)daughter (Bertha Simpson) at 4 Dundas Street, Marske in Guisbrough, Yorkshire. I suspect from her surname that Bertha was not the daughter of Charles Albert. Unfortunately the American 1890 census was destroyed so the surname used after emmigration is unknown.
The family emigrated soon after the census. The following is extracted from Virginia Fullick Edwards:
Margaret brought into the marriage a daughter Bertha Simpson, born 19 May 1875 in Brotton, Hampshire. Charles and Margaret had three sons and one daughter in the next five years, each of which died before reaching the age of five months. Charles and Margaret appear in the 1881 census, living in Marske, where he is occupied as an ironstone miner. Simpson Leland Fullick was born to them on 11 May 1881.
Margaret, Bertha and Simpson arrived at the Port of Boston, MA, on 22 November 1881, aboard the SS Batavia. The ship's passenger list indicates that Margaret was 23 years of age, a wife; Bertha, 6 years and Simpson, an infant. It does not appear that Charles accompanied them, so I assume he preceded them.
The family settled in Western Pennsylvania where they had three additional sons; Albert Frederick, born 27 December 1882; Thomas George, born 11 July 1886; and Ernest Clark, born 28 September 1887. Charles was occupied as a coal miner. He died in 1936 in Waynesburg, PA.

There is also an entry on US Ships Lists:
Her husband Charles Albert does not appear on the roster for the Batavia. They are enumerated in the 1881 census for Yorkshire, so I presume Charles preceeded his family to the US after April 1881 when the census was taken in order to prepare for their arrival. Of course, there is the possibility he wasn't at home when the census was taken and that it is an error in the census. The infant Simpson was born 19 May 1881 in Yorkshire, so Charles would have been there at least through July 1880.
The family settled in Pennsylvania, where I found them in a land purchase in 1886.
I have searched the indices for the various East Coast ports, but have not found them anywhere. Nor have I found them in the Castle Garden entries for New York.
If anyone has knowledge of this family or should come across them in their own research, I'd be most appreciative if they would contact me.
I'd welcome any suggestions as to how I could proceed in searching for Charles. He used his middle name of Albert in Yorkshire and his wife Margaret, used her middle name of Alice in the 1881 census, but switched to Margaret on the ship's passenger list.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

The fact that the children living in America lived on into old age indicates that the poor living conditions in Yorkshire was responsible for the children's deaths there.
The family lived in McDonald on the border of Washington and Allegheny Counties , Pennsylvania from the births of the children.
In the 1900 census as Charles Tullick, no age given, but born in England, a white American married for 26 years, and living with his wife (Margaret) and three sons (Albert, Ernest and Thomas) at North Fayette Township, Precincts 1 & 5, Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
In the 1910 census as Charles A Fullick born about 1854 and living with Margaret A (wife?) in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
In the 1920 census as Chas A Fullick born about 1856 and living with Margaret A (wife?) in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
In the 1930 census as Charles A Fullick born about 1855 and living with Margaret A (wife?) in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He may have had his grandson Wilbert (William) R Fullick (son of Albert Frederick and Bernice Bascerallo living with him.)
