Brain-water is probably Hydrocephalus.

An email from Steve Priestley states "I had noticed from the 1911 census that one of the names [on the Headley War Memorial], Albert Charles Marshall, was an inmate of Winchester Prison. This morning, I visited Winchester Records Office to find out why he was there. In the Assizes Prison Calendar for 1910, I found that the charge against him was that he “Feloniously did unlawfully and carnally know a certain girl named Beatrice Fullick, then being under the age of thirteen years, to wit, six years and seven months, at Headley, on the 29th April, 1910.” For this he was sentenced to 18 months’ hard labour. He was killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. [...] Entirely by chance, I am myself tenuously related to the Headley Fullicks (my 5 greats grand aunt Ann Legg married John Fullick in 1784). "
