There is a submitted entry in the IGI for John Fyge on 18 January 1555 at Headley, Hampshire, parents Thomas and Margett Fyge.

There are also two submitted entries in the IGI, one for John Fygge and the other for Mrs John Fygge, on 22 September 1556 at Headley.

There is an entry in the Survey of the Tithing of Headley in 1552:

Fulling mill — John Figg did then hold a messuage with a garden, a grove, and ii closes of land containing in whole vi akers in Stanford , in the east part of the marsh, and extends between Broke lane on the south, and the land of Robert Boxall (now part of Findans Farm ) on the north, and with the east end abutteth upon Philp field , and one Fulling mill with a course of water upon the marsh, by the rent of iii s iiii d, and for release of suite of court with tithe money vii d — in total iii s xi d.

There are also two entries in the Winchester Pipe Rolls:

1561 John Figg - Will, no Inventory; C.C. F.40.G.

1561 William Figg paid an unknown amount for a fulling mill from his father John

However there do not appear to be any entries in the church records.

The children come from: William from above entry, Thomas from christening (which also gives his wife's name) and burial details, and Mary also had an event in 1556.

There is an entry in Headley Burials for Margaret Fygg, widow, on 5 October 1585 and in Headley Wills for Margaret Fygg in 1586.

Relationship

John Figg was my eleventh great granduncle.
