There were two possible parents - Thomas Ellis and Ann Lawson who married in 1801 and William Ellis and Sarah Didham who married in 1806, both in Tiverton.
In the 1841 census as Mary Warren aged 30 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in Devon, and living with Peter (husband?), and John, Peter and William Ellis (sons?) in Fore Street, Bradninch, Devon.
In the 1851 census as Mary Warren aged 43, born in Tiverton, Devon, a shopkeeper and living with her husband (Peter), two sons (John T and Peter), and three daughters (Elizabeth H, Emily and Mary) in Fore Street, Bradninch, Devon.

There are thirty entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Mary Ellis. One adds her marriage on 16 September 1833 at St Disens, Bradninch, Devon, witnesses John Thomas Wright, Thomas Warren, Elizabeth Warren and Louisa Ellis and banns on 1 September 1833, and gives her parents as Thonas Ellis and Ann Lawson but no evidence of any of this.
Bickleigh is three miles south of Tiverton and same distance east of Bradninch.
Mary Ann Ellis was the mother of Mary Warren, wife of John Stubbs, Felicity's second great granduncle.
