Notes

There are two entries in the IGI for the christening of John Dutton, one on 16 February 1817 at St Philip and St Jacob's, Bristol, Gloucestershire, parents John and Hannah Dutton, and the second on 24 January 1819 at St Philip and St Jacob's, Bristol, Gloucestershire, parents John and Ann Dutton. There was also a christening on the same date in 1819 in the same place for a William Dutton parents William and Mary Dutton - this could be John's brother who appears to have been about the same age, but these would be the wrong parents. Is there a mistake? There is also a submitted entry in the IGI for John Dutton christened on 16 February 1817 at St Philips, Bristol, but no parents, and another on the same date at Philip & Jacob, Bristol, parents John and Hannah Dutton.

I cannot find an entry in the 1841 census although there is one for a John Dutton born 1811-1816 and living in St Philip and St Jacob, Gloucestershire, but I believe the family had moved to Southwark by 1821.
