In the 1841 census as Edward Dutton aged 15, not born in Kent, and living with Edwd Dutton (father?), Mary Dutton (Mother?), Elizabeth, Mary, Thomas and William Dutton (brothers and sisters) at Church Street, St Paul, Kent.

His father died in 1845.

Marriage of Edward Warner Dutton and Mary Ann Lannagan in FreeBMD in October-December 1845 in Lewisham (5 448).

In the 1851 census Edward Dutton, aged 24, born in St Georges in the East, Surrey (sic - should be Middlesex), employed as a labourer, and living with his wife (Mary), son (Edward) and daughter (Mary Ann) at 2 South Street, Deptford St Paul, Kent.

In the 1861 census as Edward W Dutton aged 34, born in London, employed as an agricultural labourer, and living with his wife (Mary An), three sons (Charles, Edward, and John), and four daughters (Amelia, Emily, Jane and Kezia) at 8 Peter Steet, Deptford St Nicholas, Kent.

All the children were born inDeptford. His middle name is given as William in the IGI entry for Ada. Four of the children died in 1865/6.

In the 1871 census as Edward Dalton (sic - in the index, Dutton on the original), aged 46, born in Deptford, a hawker, and living with his wife (Mary), and two sons (Charles and Edward) at 4 Chester Terrace, Grove Road, Sydenham, Lewisham, Kent.

In the 1881 census as Edward Dutton aged 54, born in St Georges In The East, employed as a general labourer, and living with his wife (Mary Ann), and two sons (Charles and John) at 1 Queen Street, Deptford St Nicholas, Kent

In the 1891 census as Edward Dutton, aged 66, born in St George in the East, Middlesex, employed as a rag sorter and living with his wife (Mary A) in one room (3 other families at the same adddress) at 12 Creek Road, St Paul, Deptford, London (A200).

Entry in FreeBMD for the death of Edward Warner Dutton aged 66 in January-March 1892 in Greenwich (1d 851).

Although there is no record of the birth or christening, I have assumed he was the son of Edward Dutton and Mary Warner on account of his middle name on the entry for his death. He was the only child christened at St George in the East which lies on Cannon Street Road, between The Highway and Cable Street, in the East End of London.

Relationship

Edward Warner Dutton was the first cousin once removed of Joseph Garibaldi Dutton, the husband of my grandaunt Mary Ann Payne.
