His son was baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Frensham on 15 January 1843 when he was a miller living in Frensham (which included Shottermill).

"Dunce Edward Personal Estate £298 12s. 6d. 27 June. The Will with a Codicil of Edward Dunce formerly of Shotter Mill in the Parish of Frensham in the County of Surrey but late of Petersfield in the County of Southampton who died 6 May 1889 at Petersfield was proved at the Principal Registry by William Lyddiard of The Rookery Bromley Common in the County of Kent Gardener one of the Executors".

Page 350 in Shottermill Its Farms, Families and Mills Part 2 1730 to the Early 20th Century by Greata A Turner published by John Owen Smith 2005 contains information on the Dunce family and Shotter Mill - the mill was a corn mill owned by the Oliver family. "Originally in the early 1860s [he] occupied the house on the corner of the main road and Lions Green probably now Bell's grocery shop. He was still living somewhere in Lions Lane in the late 1880s running a grocer's shop which was managed in the 1870s by his daughters when he was at the mill."

Edward Dunce was the father of Mary Ann Dunce, wife of Albert Baker, my half first cousin three times removed.
