Christian brings to the Paritas team over 17 years experience of working in mental health for a variety of NHS Trusts. He began as a Nursing Assistant on an acute ward and progressed as a support worker in day hospitals and the wider community. Christian qualified as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in 1996 at Oxford Brookes University. Post qualification he has worked in a number of community mental health teams. In 2005 he took up the post of Clinical Specialist OT with the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Christian then progressed to being Vocational lead for West Sussex where he held responsibility for ensuring employment outcomes were achieved for people accessing the Trust's mental health services. He successfully embedded Vocational Champions into all teams and strengthened the Trust's working relationships with their third sector partners. Christian is an experienced trainer and was one of the first Mental Health First Aid instructors in the country. He is passionate about challenging discrimination and firmly believes that engaging in meaningful occupational activity promotes good mental health.
