In the 1841 census as William Croucher aged 6, not born in Middlesex, and living with Charlotte Croucher (mother?), George Croucher (brother? and Emily and Sarah Croucher (sisters?) at 12 Brandon Croft Cottages, Isleworth, Middlesex. I cannot locate his father.

Sophia was christened in May 1842, but her birth is unknown so John may have died just before the 1841 census which was held on 6 June.

His mother died in 15 December 1842 in Brentford and was buried on 22 December 1842 at Hounslow Heath.

In the 1851 census as William Croucher aged 15, born in Chobham (sic), Surrey, and lodging with his uncle and aunt (William and Elizth Stoke), his cousin (Henry Stoke), his two brothers (Charles and George) and sister (Sophia) in Potters Park, Chertsey, Surrey.
