His parents married at St Martin in the Fields in 1861.

In the 1861 census as Alfred (sic - on the original) Croucher aged 1, born in Gillingham, Kent, and living with his parents (Allan and Mary), widowed grandmother (Mary) and a boarder (William Croucher - I guess his uncle (Frederick William) at Chatham Hill, Gillingham, Kent.

In the 1871 census as Alban S (sic - in the index, T on the orginal) Crouch (sic - on the original) aged 11, born in Chatham, Kent and living with his parents (Alban S and Mary A), two brothers (Charles H and Frederick W), two sisters (Ada M and Ellen S), and uncle (Frederick W) at Chatham Hill, Chatham, Kent.

I cannot find an entry in the 1881 census.

There are two entries in FreeBMD for the marriage of Alban Thomas Croucher and Emma Amelia Herbert in April-June 1889 in Medway (2A 888) - one has the incorrect entry of 889.

Married in the Parish Church of Luton according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns [...] in the Presence of us, James Thomas Herbert [and] Ellen Sarah Croucher". Ellen Sarah was his sister.

His son was born on 27 April 1890 and his wife died in April-June 1890 in Medway (spelt Croncher in the Register of Deaths).

His son was christened on 10 August 1890 at Christ Church, Luton, Kent, when he was a carpenter living at 8 Caroline Terrace.
