He was born 17th March, 1883 at Barnet Herts. He died 29th October, 1952 age 69 years at Sutton Coldfield, his Will being proved 2nd March 1953 at Birmingham. He married 21st February, 1918 Elsie Elizabeth Goodman (In 1956 residing at Hillside, Rectory Road, Sutton Coldfield, Warwks), then of Wanstead, Essex. She was born 8th November 1883 at Stratford, Essex being the daughter of William Goodman, Starch Manufacturer and Alice Charlotte Wichkam his wife. William Alexander and Elsie Elizabeth Cowles had an only child: Elsie Mary Cowles.
