His first daughter was born in Brighton in about 1895 from the 1911 census, but in the entry for her baptism on 7 October 1894 at St Andrew Hove her father is given as John Cook, a factory hand of 48 Aston Street. Was this a mistake. The mother is Fanny, at her marriage her father is given as William Thomas Cook, a gardener and at her death her birth is given as 10 September 1894.
His son was registered in July-September 1896 in Brighton and baptised on 23 August 1896 at St Andrew, Hove when he was a factory hand living at 28 Ashton Street, Brighton, and his daughter was born on 28 March 1898 and baptised on 29 June 1898 at St Luke, Brighton when he was a machinist living at 68 Southampton Street (she was baptised Fanny Elizabeth Rose and registered Fanny Elizabeth R, but subsequently appears as Fanny Olivia), and a son was born 19 May 1900 and registered in April-June 1900 in Chichester.
