Two entries in FreeBMD for the birth of James Percival Bushell in January-March 1887 in Croydon (2A 241 and 243 but only the second is on the typed original).

His (half?)brother was born on 13 June 1889 at 56 Gloucester Road, Croydon, and registered in July-September 1889 in Croydon but with surname Fullick so I assume his parents had separated.

In the 1891 census as James P Birchett (sic - in the index, Bushell on the original) aged 11 (sic - in the index, 4 on the original), born in Croydon, Surrey, and living with his grandparents (Thomas and Mary Ann Fullick), two uncles (James and Stinson Fullick), three aunts (Emma, Jane and Lucy Fullick), and (half?)brother (Ernest A Birchett) at 21 Wisbeach Road, Croydon, Surrey. I cannot locate an entry for his mother.

In the 1901 census as Percy Bushell aged 14, born in Croydon, and living with his grand parents (Thomas and Mary Fullick), mother (Ellen Bushell), (half)brother (Ernest Fullick) and a boarder (William French aged 32, born in Croydon, widowed, and a general labourer) at 6 Keely Road, Croydon, Surrey. This address was shared with another family.
