I cannot find her in the 1841 census.

There are two entries in Ancestry London, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1921 for the banns of Harriet Bridger and John Scammell, both of this parish on 2, 9 and 16 September 1849 at Newington St Mary, Southwark for the marriage of Harriett Bridger, father Thomas Bridger, and John Scammell, father Cornelius Scammell, at Newington St Mary, Southwark. "1849 Marriage solemnized at the Parish Church in the Parish of St Mary Newington in the County of Surrey No 5 17 September 1849 John Scammell a bachelor and labourer of full age living in Uxbridge Street, father Conelius Scammell, a labourer, and Harriett Bridger, a spinster of full age living in Uxbridge Street, father Thomas Bridger, a labourer, married after banns witnessed by William Cooper and Harriet Turton".

Her son was born and buried in Battersea St Mary in 1850.

In the 1851 census as Harriett Scammell aged 22, born in London, married and a laundress, and visiting William Allen (aged 49, born in Crawley, Hampshire and a market gardener), his wife (Jane aged 33 and born in Crawley, Hampshire), son (William agd 22, born in Crawley, Hampshire, single and a gardener), daughter (Sarah A aged 10 and born in Crawley, Hampshire) and a lodger (Charles Doling aged 23, born in Romsey, Hampshire, single and a labourer) in Middle Bridge Street, Romset Infra, Hampshire. Her husband was lodging in New Street, Battersea, Surrey.

Her two sons and daughter were born in Battersea Fields (now in the area of Battersea Park) in 1852 to 1857.

In the 1861 census as Harriot Scammell aged 29, born in Battersea, Surrey, married, a housekeeper and living with her son (Henry), daughter (Mary A), and three lodgers (John Seymour aged 27, born in Norwood, Surrey and a labourer, George Pickett aged 25, born in Tackley, Oxfordshire and a labourer, and Sarah Garrett aged 29, born in Poole, Dorset and a dress maker, all single) at 9 York Street, Battersea, Surrey. Her husband married Esther Muspratt married on on 3 August 1867 at Lambeth St John the Evangelist where he stated he was a widower.

In the 1881 census as Harriet Scammell aged 50, born in Battersea, Surrey, widowed, a housekeeper, and living with her son (Joseph), and a boarder (John Seymour aged 48, born in Norwood, Surrey, single and a general labourer) at 14 Savona Place, Battersea, London. Her son (Henry Chris) and daughter-in-law (Sarah Louisa) were living at the same address.
