"1849 Marriage solemnized at the Parish Church in the Parish of St Mary Newington in the County of Surrey No 5 17 September 1849 John Scammell a bachelor and labourer of full age living in Uxbridge Street, father Conelius Scammell, a labourer, and Harriett Bridger, a spinster of full age living in Uxbridge Street, father Thomas Bridger, a labourer, married after banns witnessed by William Cooper and Harriet Turton".
