In the 1901 census as Andred (sic - on the original) A Barton aged 10, born in Canning Town, Essex, and living with his parents (George and Sarah) and two brothers (George A H and Vincent B) in three rooms at 44 Sewardstone Street, Waltham Holy Cross, Essex.
His mother died on 19 November 1907 in Edmonton and was buried on 23 November 1907 in Hertfordshire and his father died on 22 February 1908 and was buried in Dorking Cemetery.
I cannot locate him in the 1911 census , but he had enlisted on 14 September 1908 in Lancashire Fusiliers.
