In the 1851 census as Sarah Balls aged 12, born in Gissing, Norfolk, and a house servant living with Robert Jordan (aged 51, born iun Scole, Norfolk and a tailor), his wife (Elizabeth aged 51, born in Gissing, Norfolk and a dressmaker) and son (Samuel aged 25, born in Gissing, Norfolk, single and a tailor) in Upper Street, Gissing, Norfolk.
