Birth of William Godfrey Baker in FreeBMD in April-June 1891 in Hendon (3a 207) which included Brondesbury.
In the 1901 census as William G Baker aged 9, born in Brondesbury, London, and living with his parents (Walter and Mary E), bother (Frank), and two servants (Annie James aged 26, born in Kilburn, London and Edith J Paith aged 25 and born in Easington, Gloucestershire, both single) at 11 Winchester Avenue, Willesdon, Middlesex (very near Brondesbury Park railway station).
Entry in Commonwealth War Graves for William Godfrey Baker, son of Walter and Mary Emma Baker, of 80 New King's Rd., Fulham, London, aged 25, a rifleman in the London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles), 1st/9th Bn, service number 2123, on 1 July 1916 at Pier and Face 9 C, Thiepval Memorial, Pas-de-Calais, France (no known grave). On 1 July 1916, supported by a French attack to the south, thirteen divisions of Commonwealth forces launched an offensive on a line from north of Gommecourt to Maricourt with Thiepval as an objective. Despite a preliminary bombardment lasting seven days, the German defences were barely touched and the attack met unexpectedly fierce resistance. Losses were catastrophic and with only minimal advances on the southern flank, the initial attack was a failure.
William Godfrey Baker was my half third cousin once removed.
