Notes

Birth of Margaret Baker in FreeBMD in April-June 1842 in Farnham (4 136).

Christening of Margaret Baker in the IGI in Frensham, Surrey on 5 June 1842, parents Stephen and Anne Baker.

Entry in Ancestry London, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1906 for Margaret Baker on 3 June 1842 at Frensham St Mary the Virgin, Surrey, parents Stephen and Ann Baker. "Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of Frensham in the County of Surrey in the Year 1842 [...] June ?th No (no number but would be 1202), Margaret, parents Stephen, a grocer, and Ann Baker of Frensham". The entry is nearly illegible, but the previous one No 1201 is on June 12th. However a similar entry in Ancestry Surrey, England, Baptisms, 1813-1912 for Margaret Baker clearly states 5th June, but occurs between 12 June and 3 July.

In the 1851 census as Margrett Baker aged 8, born in Frensham, and living with her parents (Stephen and Ann), three brothers (Henry, John, and William) and three sisters (Jane, Martha and Mary Ann) in Lower Churt, Frensham, Surrey.

Her father died in 1860

In the 1861 census as Margaret Baker aged 22, born in Chinley (but could be Churt on the original), Surrey, unmarried, a visitor in the index, but cook and servant on the original, at an address in Clapham Road, Clapham, Surrey. There is no head of househouse, but there are two grandsons George A Walmesley and William H Walmesley aged 9 and 10 and two granddaughters Ann M C Walmesley and Mary E Walmesley aged 8 and 6, all born in Lambeth but no indication of the parents or grandparents, plus a neice (whose?) Charlotte S M Bracesden aged 40, also born in Lambeth, unmarried, with no trade and a house servant Ellen Follett aged 23, born in Pemlico, Hampshire, unmarried and also given as a visitor.

In the 1871 census as Margaret Baker aged 28, born in Farnham, Surrey, single, employed as a cook and house servant, and living with Hannah Marter aged 72, born in Islington, Middlesex, widowed and a fundholder, her son (George P aged 33, born in Plaistow, Essex, unmarried and employed as a metal agent), three daughters (Anne R aged 25, Emma M aged 43 and Harriet L aged 39, all born in Plaistow, Essex, unmarried and no stated employment), a palourmaid (Harriet Hood aged 31 and born in Pewsham, Kent) and a housemaid (Rachela Newman aged 30 and born in St Pancras, Middlesex) at Morden Road, Charlton, London (SE of Blackheath near the college of the same name).

I cannot find any later information.
