Birth of Fanny Baker in FreeBMD in July-September 1857 in Farnham (2a 70).
Christening of Fanny Baker in the IGI on 9 August 1857 in Frensham, Surrey, parents William and Sarah Baker.
In the 1861 census as Fanny Baker aged 3, born in Frensham, and living with her parents (William and Sarah), sister (Mary), uncle (James Marden) and two servants (William Shrub aged 18, born in Headley, Hampshire and and Henry Bicknall aged 16 and born in Witley, Surrey, both employed as carters i.e. farm servants) in Churt, Frensham (my second great grandmother Charlotte Shrubb [Croucher] was next door at Squirrels so I assume this was Hale House which ties in with the 1881 census).
In the 1871 census as Fanny Baker aged 13, born in Churt , and living with eleven other girls aged 9-17 with Louisa Stratford (aged 54, born in Upton Grey, Hampshire, single and a schoolmistress), two governesses (Sarah A Thomas, aged 21, and born in Hannington, Hampshire, and Maria Young aged 29 and born in Newington, Surrey, both single), a lodger (Jane Varndell aged 70, born in Franham, Surrey, single and an annuitant), and two servants (Eliza Brown aged 30 and born in Kingsbury, Hampshire and Fanny Curtis aged 18 and born in Farnham, both single) in East Street, Farnham.
Her mother died in 1879.
In the 1881 census as Fanny Baker aged 23, born in Frensham, unmarried, no stated employment, and living with her widowed father (William Baker), sister (Mary) and uncle (James Marden) at Hale House Farm, Churt, Frensham.
In the 1891 census as Fanny Baker aged 33, born in Churt, Surrey, unmarried, employed as an assistant housekeeper and living with her widowed father (William), sister (Mary), and uncle (James Marden) at Squirrels Farm, Churt, Frensham.
Her father died in 1896 in Hambledon district which included Thursley so I assume the family had moved by then.
In the 1901 census as Fanny Baker aged 43, born in Chart (sic - in the index), Frensham, single, employed as a farmer and living with her sister (Mary - head of the household) and her uncle (James Harter (sic - in the index, Marden on the original) at Wheeler's Farm, Thursley, Surrey.
Her uncle died in 1904.
Death of Fanny Baker in FreeBMD in July-September 1918 in Farnham (2a 177).
