His mother died in Churt on 27 July 1857.

Married in the District Church according to the Rites and Cewremonies of the Established Church after Banns [...] in the Presence of us James Combes [and] Emma Varns" [his wife's half-brother and future wife who were married on the same day in the next entry to which Andrew and Harriet were witnesses].

In The Bakers of Headley it states Edward's sixth child, Andrew, was born on 29 October 1848. He married Harriet Barber, by whom he had four children, all born in Frensham: Kate born in 1869, Edward in 1871, Andrew in 1873 and Frederick in 1875. Harriet evidently died in the late 1870s, for in 1881 Andrew was recorded as a widower, living at Lion Green, Frensham, and working as a 'general labourer'.
