"Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of St Pancras in the County of Middlesex in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy five [...] July 4 No 413 William Joseph, parents George, a railway porter, and Sarah Adams of 8 Cherries Place, May 1 1875".

His sister was born at 28 Goldington Street, Somers Town in 1877.

Entry in Ancestry British Army WWI Service Records, 1914-1920 for William Joseph Adams aged 20, born in St Pancras, Middlesex No 14510 Amy Service Corps. On 16 March 1899 Wm Joseph Adams born in St Pancras London, Middlesex aged 20 years 10 months (five years too young) a porter height 5 ft 3 1/4 inches, weight 118lbs, chest 33 -35 inches, fair physical development, no small pox marks, 3 vaccination marks on left arm, fair complexion, brown eyes, black hair, had "Ada" in a scroll on left forearm and a Cross "In memory of my dear mother and father" on right forearm, and a scar on his forehead, joined A S Corps 14510. Next of kin younger sister Ada A Hibbert of 112 Stanhope Street, London. Proceedings of a Court of Inquiry assembled at Stanhope Lines, Aldershot on the 22nd August 1899 to investigate an injury on 7 August 1899 when he slipped going upstairs and twisted his right ankle and went to hospital. Rejected as it did not interfere with his efficiency as a soldier, no corroborative evidence, and he was not on duty. He was transfered to Reserves on 21 September 1902. Died of Chronic Brights Disease at Union Workhouse Luton on 20 June 1909. There is also a copy of his Death Certificate "1909 Death in the Sub-District of Luton in the District of Luton in the County of Bedford No 432 Seventeenth June 1909 Union Workhouse Luton William Joseph Adams, Male aged 34 Year, a carman of Luton U.D. and An Army Pensioner of Chronic Brights Disease Informant A Hibbert Sister In attendence 83 Warwick Road Luton on Twenty first June 1909".
