There are four other entries for Louis H Adams, one of which gives his birth in 1830 in Wilcox , Alabama, parents William Wyatt Adams and Martha Havard and his death in 1861.

There is an entry in the Pedigree Resource File for the birth of Lewis Adams in 1829 in Mississippi, parents Lewis H Adams and Charlotte Cowart, his death on 3 November 1860 in Mobile, Alabama, and burial in on 5 November 1860 in Rocke Creek Cemetery, George, Mississippi. Another four entries correct his parents to William Wyatt Adams and Martha Harvard, and his marriage to Charlotte Cowart in 1854 in Mobile, Mississippi, but give his death in January 1944! Two other entries give his birth in 1830 in Wilcox, Alabama and his death in 1861.

The family appear to have lived in Wilcox, Alabama until at least 1840 from the birth of his brother Jesse. Wilcox, Alabama in 1840.

His mother died in 1842 and his father married Lucinda Dismukes in 1843, and the family moved to Greene County.

In the 1850 Greene County Census as Lewis Adams aged 21, a labourer and born in Mississippi, and living with Lewin Adams (brother?), Margaret (Lewin's wife?) and John, Catherine and Sarah (Lewin's children?) in Greene County, Mississippi.

In the 1860 Greene County Census as L H Adams aged 30, a farmer worth 200 (dollars?) and living with his wife Charlott, son Charls, and three daughters (Mary, Nancy and Sarah) in Leakesville, Greene County, Mississippi.

Entry in Cemetery Records Online in Rocky Creek Cemetery, Lucedale, George County, Mississippi for Lewis Adams "Shug" born 29 ? (18) 1830 and died 3 November 1860 in Section B-7. This is some 6 miles east of Lucedale towards Mobile, Alabama.

His parents are given as William Wyatt Adams and Mary Harvard and his birth in 1829 or 1830, marriage to Charlotte Cowart in Greene County, Mississippi, and death in 1860, 1861 or 1862. Some entries add extra children (Maney who was Nancy and Mary A). Several give the following regarding his death "Lewis H. Adams was killed by a man called Grimes while on his way to Mobile from the Rocky Creek area of George County, Mississippi in 1872. Robbery was the motive. Grimes was tried, imprisoned and then released to serve in the Confederate States of America Army." This entry also states he was living in the 1870 census!
