He appears to have been born in November 1860 about the same time as his father died and was buried in Rocky Creek Cemetery, Lucedale, George County, Mississippi so I assume he was born in Vernal, Greene County, Mississippi which is only 8 miles noth of Lucedale, although Wilcox County, Alabama is also given as his place of birth. There are mentions of a son James, but I can find no evidence for him.
