Birth of Robert Absalom in FreeBMD in April-June 1859 in Tynemouth (10b 175).

In the 1861 census as Robert Absoland, aged 2, born in Cramlington and living with his parents (David and Susannah), five brothers (Christopher, David, James, and Matthew and William Lowther) and three sisters (Elizabeth, Margaret and Susannah) at West Cramington.

His father died in 1870.

In the 1871 census as Robert Absalom aged 12, born in Northumberland and living with his widowed mother (Susan), two brothers (Matthew and William Zokes) and his sister Margaret at West Cramington Colliery, Northumberland

In the 1881 census as Robert Absalom aged 22, born in Cramlington, single, employed as a butcher and living with his widowed mother (Susan) at Station Terrace, Cramlington (shared with another family).

There is an entry in FreeBMD for the marriage of Robert Absalom and Mary Ann Dixon in October-December 1887 in Tynemouth (10b 386) which included Cramlington.

In the 1891 census as Robert Absalom aged 32, born in West Hamlingty (sic - Cramlington on the original), employed as a butcher, and living with his wife (Mary A), two daughters (Adeline E and Beatrice A), and his widowed mother (Susanna) in four rooms at Hirst Terrace, Bedlington.

His wife died in 1893, about the time of the birth of her third child.

There is an entry in FreeBMD for the marriage of Robert Absalom and Ann Dixon in October-December 1895 in Morpeth (10b 627) which included Bedlington. An Emily Jane Dixon married a George Graham on the same page.

In the 1901 census as Robert Absalom aged 42, born in West Cramlington, employed as a butcher and living with his wife (Ann), two sons (John and Robert E D), and four daughters (Adeline E, Beatrice A, Susannah, and Winifred M) at Hirst Terrace, Bedlington.

Dennis Heydecker has an entry in RootsWeb WorldConnect for Robert Absalom born on 17 March 1858 in West Cramlington, Northumberland parents David Absalom and Susanna(h) Lowther, his marriage to Ann Dixon, six children, his marriage to Mary Ann Dixon, and three children, and his death in 1923. (I cannot find an entry in the Register of Births for a Robert Absalom in 1858 nor an entry in the Register of Deaths for 1923).

Relationship

Robert Absalom was the uncle of Susannah Emily Absalom, the wife of George Fullick, my third cousin twice removed.
