There is an entry in FreeBMD for the birth of David Absalom in July-September 1877 in the Tynemouth District (10b 253).

Entry in the 1881 census for David Absalom aged 3, born in West Cramlington, Northumberland and living with his parents (Matthew and Ruth) and sister (Margt E) at 24 Cross Row, Cramlington, Northumberland.

I cannot find any entries in the 1891 or 1901 census, and from the following believe he emigrated to New Zealand in 1882 with his parents.

I am researching the Absaloms from Northumberland. I can go back to James Snr Absalom who married Elizabeth Kid but have no dates. A son James Jnr was born 1764 at Monkwearmouth Durham England and married 23 May 1787 Earsdon Northumberland to Elizabeth Hudson born 1762 and died 17 Oct 1832 South Blyth. Is there anyone who can help. My GGrandfather lived 24 Cross Row Cramlington Northumberland 1881 Cenus and came to NZ in 1882.

Denis Heydecker has an entry in RootsWeb WorkldConnect for the birth of David Absalom in 1878, parents Matthew Absalom and Ruth Ellison, and his death in 1940.

However William and Grace Barras have an entry in Ancestry Public Member Tree giving the same information except that he died in Australia.

Relationship

David Absalom was the first cousin of Susannah Emily Absalom, the wife of George Fullick, my third cousin twice removed.
