In the 1871 census as Sarah Abberly aged 7 months, born in Battersea, Surrey, and living with her parents (George and Mary A), three brothers (George, John, and Thomas) and sister (Elizabeth) at 12 Cottage Place, Battersea, Surrey.
In the 1881 census as Sarah Abberly aged 13, born in London, Middlesex, and living at Metro Howards Bldg King Edwds Refuge 19 Albert St, Mile End New Town, London. This appears to be a school run by Emma Clark, a widow aged 33 and born in Lyons (France?) and a british subject and about ninety other girls aged 10 to 15. This was probably the King Edwards Ragged School of Industry founded in 1846 and closed in 1887. The census is also at Childrens Homes. There are a very large number of families living at the same address.
Her son was born on 7 December 1888, registered in October-December 1888 in Wandsworth with surname Abberley, and baptised on 3 March 1889 at St Mary, Battersea when they were living at 17 Parkham Street, surname Wadling.

Her father had died in 1886 and I cannot understand where the William came from, but as ahe was not at home in 1881 she may have forgotton his name?.
