"Page 108 Baptisms solemnized in the Parish of Knaresbro' in the County of York in the Year one thousand eight hundred and twentynine [...] Novr 6 No. 861 George [parents] Thomas [a] Turner & Anne Abbey [of] Knaresbro'".
In the 1841 census as George Abbey aged 13, born in Yorkshire, and living with Jane Abbey and Ann Abbey in Gracious Street, Knaresborough, Yorkshire. I cannot identify Jane but she was widowed, a Richard Abbey died in Knaresbough in 1840, and Ann was aged 1, and born in Knaresborough in July-September 1840, but I cannot find a later reference to her. A Jane Abbey of 11 High Street was buried in the Beckett Street Cemetery, Leeds on 8 May 1850 aged 46. He may have been adopted by Richard and Jane, and Richard may have been a brother of Thomas.
In the 1851 census as George Abbey aged 21, born in Knaresborough, Yorkshire, single, a journeyman bridle cutter, and living with his parents (Thomas and Ann) in Castle Gate, Knaresborough, Yorkshire. I assume he returned to his real parents when Jane died.

Married in the parish church according to the Riters and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns [... his wife made her mark] in the Presence of us George Lowrey and Jane Lowrey".
