Christening of Sarah Marden in the IGI on 20 February 1831 in Frensham, Surrey, parents George and Elizabeth Marden.
I believe the family moved from Frensham (Churt) to the White Horse, Headley, following the death of her grandmother Sarah Wilsdon [Hall] on 17 September 1837.
In the 1841 census as Sarah Marder (sic - in the index, correct on the origin) aged 10, not born in Hampshire and living with George and Elizabeth (parents?), George, James and Stephen (brothers?), Frances and Mary (sisters?), James Hall (her uncle?), Elizabeth Baker (daughter of Stephen and Mary?), William Cempter, Stephen Harding, William Larby (son of James and Maria?), William and Mary Lawrence, John Manel and Richard Saunders at I assume Frensham Pond House or the White Horse, Headley. It is not clear whether all are at the same address.
In the 1851 census as Sarah Marden aged 20, born in Frensham, single, employed as a grocer and head of the family, and living with her two brothers (Georg and James) in Lower Churt, Frensham.
Marriage of Sarah Marden and William Baker in FreeBMD in July-September 1853 in Farnham (2a 90). Marriage of Sarah Marden and William Baker in the IGI on 3 August 1853 in Frensham, Surrey.
In the 1861 census as Sarah Baker aged 30, born in Frensham, and living with her husband (William), two daughters (Mary and Fanny), brother (James Marden) and three servants (William Shrub aged 18, born in Headley, Hampshire, and Henry Bicknall aged 16 and born in Witley, Surrey, both employed as carters i.e. farm servants and Ann Dedman aged 15 and born in Dockenfield) in Churt, Frensham (my second great grandmother Charlotte Shrubb (Croucher] was next door at Squirrels so I assume this was Hale House which ties in with the 1871 census).
In the 1871 census as Sarah Baker aged 40, born in Frensham, and living with her husband (William), daughter (Mary), and two servants (George Loe aged 19, born in Headley, Hampshire, single and a farm servant, and Ellen Carby (Larby on the orginal) aged 15 and born in Liford (Tilford on the orginal)), Surrey, at Hale House, Churt, Frensham.
Death of Sarah Baker in FreeBMD in July-September 1879 aged 48 in Farnham (2a 69).
Sarah Marden was my first cousin three times removed. Her husband was my fourth cousin once removed.
