Birth of Reginald James Marden in FreeBMD in July-September 1878 in Farnham (2a 125).
In the 1881 census as Reginald J Marden, aged 2, and living with his parents (James and Marion H) and two sisters (Kathleen B and Mildred) who were living with her grandmother (Frances E West) and uncle (Harry E West) in Whitmore, Churt, Frensham Surrey. There were four other families at ths address which is between Green Cross and Jumps House. This implies it was The Barracks but the house order is then strange.
In the 1891 census as Reginald Marden aged 12, born in Surrey, and living with his parents (James and Marian Henrietta), brother (Henry), and three sisters (Agnes, Kathleen and Mildred) at Beach Cottage, Churt, Frensham (at the Pride end of Hale House Lane).
In the 1901 census as Reginald Marden aged 22, born in Frensham, Surrey, single, a carpenter, and living with his parents (James and Marian), brother (Henry and Reginald), and two sisters (Agnes and Kathleen) in four rooms at Beeches Cott, Shant Lane (old name for Hale House Lane, Shant being what is now known as the Crossways, "Shan't" being "the most frequent phrase on the lips of the innkeeper's wife" - 100 Years in Churt by U H S Snow about 1970 page 8).
Reginald James Marden was my third cousin once removed.
