In the 1891 census as Henry Marden aged 8, born in Surrey, and living with his parents (James and Marian Henrietta), brother (Reginald), and three sisters (Agnes, Kathleen and Mildred) at Beach Cottage, Churt, Frensham (at the Pride end of Hale House Lane).
In the 1901 census as Henry Marden aged 18, born in Frensham, Surrey, single, a bricklayer's labourer, and living with his parents (James and Marian), brother (Reginald), and two sisters (Agnes and Kathleen) in four rooms at Beeches Cott, Shant Lane (old name for Hale House Lane, Shant being what is now known as the Crossways, "Shan't" being "the most frequent phrase on the lips of the innkeeper's wife" - 100 Years in Churt by U H S Snow about 1970 page 8).
