In the 1841 census (held on the night of 6 June) as Frances Marder (sic - in the index, correct on the origin) aged 2 months, born in Hampshire and living with George and Elizabeth (parents?), George, James and Stephen (brothers?), Mary and Sarah (sisters?), James Hall (her uncle?), Elizabeth Baker (daughter of Stephen and Mary?), William Cempter, Stephen Harding, William Larby (son of James and Maria?), William and Mary Lawrence, John Manel and Richard Saunders at I assume Frensham Pond House or the White Horse, Headley. It is not clear whether all are at the same address.
In the 1851 census as Frances Marden aged 10, born in Headley, Hampshire, and living with her parents (George and Elizabeth), two brothers (Richard and Stephen), and four sisters (Catherine, Elizabeth, Mary and Matilda) at Frensham Pond, Headley, Hampshire (this was later the White Horse and Frensham Pond Hotel).
In the 1861 census as Fanny Madden (sic on the original) aged 22, born in Headley, Hampshire, employed as a housemaid, and living with George Best (aged 62, born in Bedford Bow, London, a barrister of Middle Temple, P and DL, Surrey), his wife (Elizth Geoa Ann aged 50 and born in Wimple Street, London), son (Francis Whittm aged 18, born in Compton, single and a stiudent in law), daughter (Emily Jane Elvington aged 22, born in Compton and married to Lt Col Elvington of 4th Bat Rife Brigrade), a visitor (Sarah Wray aged 25, single and employed as a lady's maid), and four servants (Hanchen Helsubricht aged 37, single, born in Hamburg and a lady's maid, Mara Ann Gulliford aged 28, single, born in Storumber, Somerset, and a cook, Ann Edwards aged 17, born in Eton, Berkshire, single and a housemaid, and William Scott aged 27, born in St Long Acre, Offaly, Ireland, married but not living with his wife, and a coachman) at Eastbury House, Compton, Surrey.

Her brother Stephen died in E Preston in 1886 so I assume that he moved there from the White Horse at Headley/Frensham.
In the 1891 census as Fanny Coupland aged 50, born in Farnham, Surrey, and living with her husband (Charles), son (George), daughter (Alice) and a servant (Kate Varker aged 20, born in Pulborough, Sussex and single) at 100 Marine Parade, Broadwater, Worthing, Sussex.
In the 1901 census as Fancis Coapland (sic - in the index, correct on the original) aged 60, born in Frensham, Surrey, and living with her husband (Charles), daughter (Alice), neice (Nellie Reeves aged 19, born in Hackney, London, single and a drapers assistant) and a servant (Catherine Parker aged 30, born in Pulborough, Sussex and single) at 100 Marine Parade, Worthing.
Her husband died in 1904.

Frances Marden was my first cousin three times removed.
