There is an entry in the IGI for the christening of John Humfris on 22 October 1780 in Botley, parents John Croucher and Mary Humfris. There was also an entry in Botley Parish Records for John Humfris base born son of Mary Humfris & John Croucher

Marriage of John Crowcher and Eleanor Binsted in the IGI on 12 August 1784 in Botley Hampshire. There is also a submitted entry for the marriage of John Croucher, born about 1755 in Titchfield, Hampshire in Botley on 12 August 1724, but no wife.

There is an entry in the Ancestral File for the marriage of John Croucher born in Titchfield, Hampshire in about 1759 and Ellinor Houghton on 12 August 1784 in Botley, and a son John Croucher. There are also some 14 entries in the Pedigree Resource File for the marriage.

There is an entry in FamilyhistoryOnline Hampshire Burials for John Croucher on 15 March 1820 in Botley.

There were two entries in Botley Baptisms (no longer available) for the marriage of John Croucher and Eleanor Binsted, a widow, by license on 12 August 1784, and the burial of John Croucher, a married man aged 69, on 15 March 1820.

Scott Houghton has an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for John Croucher born about 1759 in Hampshire, his marriage to Ellinor Houghton on 12 August 1784, and a son John. Phil Burner has an entry for John Croucher father of Mary Ann Croucher born in Botley in 1790.

"Daniel Croucher was the illegitimate son of Mary Anne Croucher. She married William Chase on the 16th of April 1811 and had another daughter and three sons from that marriage. They seemed to have lived in Titchfield. Mary Anne was the daughter of John Croucher and Eleanor Binstead (Nee Houghton) who married in Botley on the 12th of August 1784. Although Eleanor Houghton's family can be traced right back to 1500 also in Titchfield, no one has so far been able to trace John Croucher's family prior to his marriage in Botley. There is a suggestion he was also born in Titchfield around 1750, but no proof and there was another Croucher family in Titchfield, which it is not thought he was connected to. Daniel's wife was Mary Primmer, but we don't have any date for the marriage."
