There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for John William Croucher, son of John James and Charlotte Rosina who died in 1947 in Granville, NSW, Australia.

Tom Croucher in Australia in an email stated that John William Croucher was born on 21 March 1869 in Lambeth, London, the first son of John James Croucher, but known by his second name William, his marriage on 25 March 1891 in Leichhardt, Sydney to Ellenor Sarah Davies, his four children and and his death on 23 January 1947 in Merrylands, Sydney. As the eldest son in the family William had to look after the family when his father left for Australia in 1883. On the voyage to Australia in 1885 he was listed separately from Charlotte and her other 5 children because he was over 15 years old. This separate listing has caused confusion for several researchers. During the 1890's William lived at several addresses in Leichhardt and Annandale and appears to have been a Grocer for all of that period. From 1899 to 1908 he was living in Bellevue Parade, Hurstville, and gave his occupation as Engine Driver. The new occupation of John William represents a move away from the trades of his ancestors, and commenced an association with metal trades and engineering which remained in his family for several generation. After a short time in Tempe, around 1915, he moved to Merrylands around 1920 and remained there for the rest of his life. His first son, William (but known as Roy), was killed in France in WW1, but the rest of his family grew up, married and lived in the Merrylands area for many years.

Phillipa Andrew has an entry for John (William) Croucher born on 21 March 1869 in Vauxhall St, Vauxhall, Surrey, his marriage to Ellenor Sarah Davies on 25 March 1891 at the residence of the bride’s parents at Annesley St, Leichhardt in a Congregational Church ceremony conducted by the Rev. J.M. Bayley, Alfred Croucher and Jane Davies being witnesses, his four children, his occupations as engine fitter and stationary engine driver, his addresses as 134 Catherine Street, Leichhardt (1892), 4a Raper St, Newtown (1894), at 21 Balmain Rd, Leichhardt (1895), 142 Francis St, Leichhardt (1896), 42 Young St, Annandale (1897/8), Bellevue Pde, Hurstville (1903-1915), but temporarily at Railway Pde, Kogarah in 1902, 4 Quarry St, Tempe (1915), Haroldene, Myall St, Merrylands (1919-1923), and 48 Belmont St, Merrylands where his wife died in 1933 and where he died on 23 January 1947, and was buried on 24 January 1947 at Section 12, of the C of E Cemetery, Rookwood
