In the 1841 census as Ann Coucker (sic - in the index, Croucher on the original) aged 15, born in Surrey, and living with John (father?), Mary (grandmother?) and Hadwell Pakick and Richard Pakick (brothers?) in Kings Head Square, Dorking, Surrey.

She had a son Charles christened in Dorking in 1848, father unknown.

In the 1851 census as Ann Croushore (sic - in the index, Croucher on the original), aged 26, born in Dorking, unmarried, employed as a house servant, and living with Joseph Humphreys (aged 37, born in Charlwood, Surrey, and a farmer of 200 acres employing 10 labourers), his wife (Martha aged 35 and born in Colchester, Essex), three sons (George aged 7, Harry aged 1, and Joseph aged 1, all born in Mickleham), two daughters (Ester aged 5 and Mary aged 4 both born in Mickleham), a servant (Richard Charman aged 26, born in Dorking, Surrey, unmarried and employed as an agricultural labourer) and another house servant (Mary J Pullen aged 12? and born in Mickleham) at Chapel Farm, Mickleham, Surrey. Her son was boarding with William Pelham in Dorking.

She had four more children christened in Dorking father unknown.

In the 1861 census as Ann Croucher aged 35, born in Dorking, Surrey, married, but not with her husband, no stated employment, and living with her son (Charles) and daughter (Mary J) and two visitors (Edward Pearson aged 49, born in Middlesex, single and John Sweney aged 70, born in Ireland and widowed, both labourers on the road) at 4 River Street, Stratford, West Ham, Essex.
