Marriage of Robert Young, father Joseph Young, and Elizabeth Graham in the IGI on 4 May 1840 in Hove, Sussex.

I cannot find an entry in the 1841 census, but the children were born in Brighton (Brighthelmstone).

In the 1851 census as Robert Young aged 35, born in Southwick, Sussex, a a laundress man, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), two sons (Edward and Robert) and two daughters (Maria and Mary Ann) at 30 Borough Street, The Palace, Brighton, Sussex.

In the 1861 census as Robert Young aged 44, born in Southwick, Sussex, employment illegible, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), two sons (Edward and Robert), four daughters (Elizabeth, Ellen, Maria and Mary), and a lodger (William Graham aged 93, born in Scotland and a green grocer) at 13 Osborne Street, Hove, Sussex.

In the 1871 census as Robert Young aged 51, born in Southwick, Sussex, s a laundryman, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), son (Robert), two daughters (Elizabeth and Ellen), a nephew (Richard Goble aged 7 and born in Hove, Sussex), a niece (Annie Young aged 2 and born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent) and a lodger (John Brown aged 24, born in Sutton, Surrey, single and a plumber) at 13 Osborne Street, Hove, Sussex. Another family was living at the same address.

In the 1881 census as Robert Young aged 64, Southwick, Sussex, a laundryman, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), unmarried daughter (Elizabeth) and a lodger (Robert Betts aged 39, born in Greenwich, married and a plasterer) at 13 Osborne St, Hove, Sussex.

I cannot find an entry for his death but his wife was a widow in the 1891 census.

There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Robert Young born in 1816 in Southwick, Sussex, the five census entries (I believe the 1841 to be incorrect), his marriage to Elizabeth, and four children (not Elizabeth or Ellen).
