In the 1881 census as John Young aged 22, born in Sussex, single, a mariner and boarding with Absalom Woolgar, his wife (Martha - John's sister) their two sons (Fredk. aged 8 and Albert aged 14, both born in Sussex), daughter (Emily aged 12 and born in Sussex), and two other boarders (Edward Daffern aged 23, born in Warwickshire and a mariner, and John Williams aged 20, born in Worcestershire and a groom, both single) at 83 Princes Road, St James Bermondsey, Surrey.

I cannot identify his wife except she was born in circa 1862 in Brighton.
