Birth of Ernest Walter Young in FreeBMD in July-September 1895 in Steyning (2b 303) which included Shoreham.
In the 1901 census as Erenst (sic - in the index, correct on the original) W Young aged 6, born in Shoreham, Sussex, and living with his parents (John J and Lomia), brother (Joseph), and three sisters (Elizabeth, Kate and Lydia M) in four rooms at 17 Middle Street, New Shoreham, Sussex.
In the 1911 census as Ernest Young aged 15 and living with Joseph and Louisa (parents?) and Elizabeth (sister?) in Steyning, Sussex.
Entry in Commonwealth War Graves Commision for E W Young a private 21113 in the Hampshire Regiment 15th Hampshire Yeomanry Bn., son of Joseph John and Louisa Young, of 37, West St., Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex who died on 21 October 1918 and is buried at Moorseele Military Cemetery, Wevelgem, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
Ernest Walter Young was the second cousin once removed of Ellen, wife of Thomas Paine, my eighth cousin three times removed.
