The family moved to Kingston, Sussex in about 1830 and then back to Southwick before 1936 from the births of her sisters and brother.
In the 1841 census as Eleanor Young aged 13, born in Sussex and a female servant kiving with John Nobbs (aged 30 rounded down to a multiple of 5, born in Sussex), Sarah Nobbs (aged 25 rounded down to a multiple of 5, born in Sussex and his wife?), Henry Nobbs aged 2 and Ann Nobbs aged 5 months (both born in Sussex and his children?) in Tidy Street, Brighthelmstone St Peter, Sussex.
In the 1851 census as Eleanor Young aged 23, born in Southwick, Sussex, single, a groccer? and living with her cousin (John King aged 33, born in Brighton, Sussex and a journeyman baker), his wife (Mary A aged 31 and born in Brighton), three sons (George aged 8, Henry aged 6 and Josseph I aged 3, all born in Brighton), daughter (Roschanah aged 15 - original illegible and born in Brighton) and six visitors/lodgers at 2 Little Western Street, Palce, Brighton.

Eleanor Young was the aunt of Ellen, wife of Thomas Paine, my eighth cousin three times removed.
