Entry in Ancestry British Army WWI Service Records, 1914-1920 for Albert Voller states he enlisted on 13 May 1916 aged 21 and 1 month, and was working as a timber carter and living with Mr Enticknap of Dunsford (Dunsfold?), Surrey. He was 5 ft 9 in tall, chest 37+3 in, and had a fresh brown dark complexion. His next of kin was his father Jesse Voller of Green Cross, Churt, Surrey. He was not married and had no children. He joined the RGA as gunner 81225. He embarked Folkestone 26 September 1916 and disembarked Boulogne same day, he was admonished by OC for neglect of duty whilst employed as No 2 gun detachment on 18 October 1916, and was killed in action on 4 April 1917, both reported by OC 183 Siege Battery. A pocket knife, metal ring, cap badge and two pipes were sent to Mr Jesse Voller of Green Cross, Churt, Farnham, Surrey on 23 August 1917 and were acknowleged on 7 September 1916 (sic). A request for a list of relatives was sent to Mr J Voller of Green Cross, Churt, Farnham, Surrey on 10 April 1919, and this was returned on 17 April 1919: Widow and children none, father Jesse Voller aged 62 of Green Cross Farm, Churt, mother Mary Ann Voller aged 61 Green Cross Farm, brothers William A C Voller aged 39 2 Sandy Lane, Churt, Herbert H Voller 37 Green Cross Farm, Jesse P Voller 34 Weymore?, Thursley, George E G Voller 32 Holley Hill, Farnham, John P Voller 29 Green Cross, James F 25 Farnhurst Cottages, Thursley, sisters Hellen C Dopson 38 Northwood Cottages, Hindhead, and Mabel R Voller 21 Churt House, Churt.
