Notes

Birth of Harriett Taylor in FreeBMD in July-September 1873 in Horsham (2b 287) which included Rudwick from 1870.

Christening of Harriett Taylor in the IGI on 18 July 1875 aged 2 at Rudgwick, Sussex, parents Peter and Harriet Taylor. Her sister Mary Anne was christened on the same date, but although also given as aged 2 I suspect from the FreeBMD and census entries she was only a few weeks old.

In the 1881 census as Harriett Taylor aged 7, born in Rudgwick, and living with her parents (Peter and Harriett), brother (George) and two sisters (Kate and Maryann) at Cousins House Farm House, Rudgewick. Cousins Farm is near the southern end of Haven Road between Rudgwick and Five Oaks.

In the 1891 census as Harriet Taylor aged 19, born in Rudgwick, single, no stated employment, and living with her parents (Peter and Harriet) and a boarder (Albert Bear aged 13 and born in Rudgwick) at Cousins, Rudgwick.

Marriage of Harriet Taylor and William Marden in FreeBMD in July-September 1899 in E Preston (2b 777).

Her son was born in West Tarring.

In the 1901 census as Harriet Marden aged 27, born in Rudgwick, living with her son (Sidney J) and her parents (Peter and Harriet Taylor) at 74 Becket Road, West Tarring, Sussex (just north of the railway line and A2031 Tarring Road). Her husband was living with his parents.

West Tarring is NW of the centre of Worthing.
