Notes

Christening of Martha Shrub in the IGI in Headley on 15 March 1835, parents Eli and Mary Shrub. The same information is in Headley Baptisms adding that her father was a labourer living at Arford.

In the 1841 census as Martha Shrule (sic - in the index, Shrub on the original), aged 6, born in Headley, Hampshire, and living with Ele (sic - father?), Mary, (mother?), Benjamin, Daniel, and Edward (Brothers?), Ann, Esther, and Emma (sisters?) at Arford,Headley.

In the 1851 census as Martha Shrube (sic - in the index, Shrub on the original) aged 16, born in Headley, employed as a house servant, and living with George Baker (widowed, employed as a farmer using 44 acres employing one man and one boy), his three sons (Albert (actually a grandson, son of William), Henry and William), daughter (Sarah), a visitor (John Baker aged 40, born in Headley, unmarried and a farmer of 49 acres employing three labourers - was this his son?), and another servant (William Mills aged 23, unmarried and employed as an agricultural labourer) at Simmondstone, Headley. George Baker was my third great granduncle.

Marriage of Henry Fullick and Martha Shrubb in the IGI on 24 December 1853 in Headley.

The marriage of Martha Shrubb and Henry Fullick is in the Register of Marriages in October-December 1853 in Farnbro (2a 107) which included Headley in 1847-1869.

In the 1861 census as Martha Fulick (sic - both on the original and in the index) aged 32 (26 would be more accurate), born in Headley, and living with her husband (Henry), two sons ( Samuell and William) and two daughters (Martha and Mary Ann) at Barford, Headley, Hampshire.

In the 1871 census as Martha Fullick aged 40 (36 would be more accurate), born in Headley, and living with her husband (Henry), seven sons (Arthur, Frederick, George, James, John, Samuel and William), and two daughters (Martha and Mary Ann) at the Furze Hills, Churt (as this is the third entry in the Churt census starting from Pond Cottage, I think it must be Copse or Coppice Cottage where my father lived after 1906).

In the 1881 census as Martha Fullock (sic - in the index, correct on the original) aged 46, born in Headley and living in Churt with her husband (Henry), four sons (Arthur, Henry, Frederick, and Samuel) and three daughters (Ellen, Kate and Lilly - this was Lilly Hurst her granddaughter) between Simmons Stone and Wellmer's Cottage (I assume this was still Coppice Cottage).

In the 1891 census as Martha Fullick aged 52 (should be 56), born in Headley, and living with her husband (Henry), four sons (Arthur, George, James and William), two daughters (Ellen and Kate) and grand daughter (Lilly Hurst) at Simmond Stone, Headley (I think this was at Field House).

Her husband died in 1895.

In Rogers' Almanack and Directory of Headley - 1896 Mrs Henry Fullick was living with Lily Hurst at Field House (Lily is not in the 1897 directory).

In the 1901 census as Martha Fullick aged 69 (should be 66), born in Headley, widowed, and living with three unmarried sons (Arther, George and William) at Rooks Cottage, Headley.

Death of Martha Fullick in FreeBMD in July-September 1905 aged 70 in Alton (2c 99) which included Headley from 1869.
