In the 1841 census as William Stubbs aged 30 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in Nottinghamshire, a journeyman trimmer and living with William Brown (aged 49, born in Nottinghamshire, and a journeyman dyer), Anne (wife? aged 47 and born in Nottinghamshire) and Charles (son? aged 27, born in Nottinghamshire and a journeyman dyer) in Wood's Yard, Castle, St Peter, Nottingham.

Marriage of William Stubbs and Harriet Bourne in FreeBMD in January-March 1844 in Leek (17 51).

Emma was born in Basford in 1844 and christened in Leek in January 1846, but Edwin was born and christened in Ryde, Isle of Wight in January 1847.

There are four entries in Ancestry Public Member Trees for William Stubbs born 1809 in Derby, parents Joseph Stubbs and Harriet Reddish. Andrew Peel gives his birth (christening?) on 8 January 1809 at St Mary, Nottingham, marriage to Harriet Bourne in 1844 in Leek, Staffordshire and two children.

Basford is a northern suburb of Nottingham although it was a separate parish prior to 1877.
