In the 1881 census as Frederick Stubbs aged 7, born in Bradninch, Devon, and living with his parents (John and Mary), three brothers (Arthur G, Francis W and Percival), two sisters (Beatrice and Mary E), (half)sister (Florence) and a servant (Adelaide Manley aged 15, and born in Scorrior, Cornwall) in Edwards Street, Truro St Mary, Cornwall.
His brother was born in Truro in 1881, but his sister and three brothers were born in Tiverton in 1882 to 1887.
