Christening of Isaac Smither in the IGI on 20 February 1803 in Witley, Surrey, parents James and Ann Smither.

His brother was christened in Witley in 1808.

Entry in the West Surrey Family History Society Surrey Marriage Index for Isaac Smithers of Thursley and Ann Heward on 26 November 1825 in Witley.

His son John was christened in 1826 in Haslemere, Surrey, parents Isaac and Ann Smither.

In the 1841 census as Isaac Smith (sic - in the index, Smither on the original) aged 40, born in Surrey, an agricultural labourer and living with Ann (wife?) and John (son?) in Hambledon Common, Hambledon, Surrey.

In the 1851 census as Isaac Smithers aged 50, born in Thursley, Surrey, a farmer of 50 acres employing 4 labourers and 1 boy, and living with his wife (Ann) and son (John) in Hambledon Hurst, Hambledon, Surrey (Kent in the index!).

In the 1861 census as Isaac Smithers aged 60, born in Witley, Surrey, a farmer of 46 acres employing one boy and 3 men, and living with his wife (Ann, son (John) and a servant (William Hutchins aged 17 and born in Hambledon, Surrey) near the brickyard, Hambledon, Surrey.

His wife died in Hambledon in 1867.

His housekeeper Mary Stilwell had a son Sydney Smithers Stilwell christened in Hambledon on 12 December 1869, but only the mother's name is given. I guess John Smither was the father, but they never married.

In the 1871 census as Isaac Smither aged 70, born in Thursley, Surrey, widowed, a farmer of 60 acres employing 3 laborers and one boy. and living with his son (John), a housekeeper (Mary Stilwell), and grandson (Sydney Smithie Stilwell) at Hambledon Common, Hambledon, Surrey.

In the 1881 census as Isaac Smithers aged 79, born in Thursley, Surrey, a widower, a farmer of 60 acres employing 3 labourers, and living with his son (John), a housekeeper (Mary Stilwell), and her son (Sydney Smithers Stilwell) in Hambledon village near the brickyard, Surrey.

Death of Isaac Smithers in FreeBMD in April-June 1889 aged 88 in Hambledon (2a 67).
