Notes

Christening of Ann Payne in the IGI on 10 December 1770 in Trotton, Sussex, father Thomas Payne.

Entry in the Sussex Family History Group Sussex Marriage Index for an Archdeaconry of Chichester Marriage Licence dated 30 August 1793 for Ann Payne aged 22 and a spinster of Rogate and John Neale aged 30 and a bachelor and gent of Bramshott sponsored by JN and jn George.

Marriage of Anne Payne and John Neale in the IGI on 19 September 1793 in Rogate, Sussex.

The same information is in the Sussex Family History Group Sussex Marriage Index adding she was of this parish, he was a bachelor of Bramshott, it was by licence, and it was witnessed by Edwd Collins, Sar P, and Betsy Mellersh. I assume Sar P refers to her sister Sarah Payne.

There is also an entry in Bramshott Marriage Licences for Ann Payne of Rogate, Sussex and John Neale of Bramshott by licence and witnessed by Edward Collins, Sarah Payne and Betsey Mellersh on 19 September 1793.

Her daughter was born in Bramshott.

Trotton is two miles west of Midhurst and Rogate another 2 miles west, both just south of A272.
