Notes

No father is listed in the Christening record in the IGI, but the simularity of the name indicates that he was the son of Clara's future husband of some 5 years later. He obviously changed his name to Henry Matthews before he was 20.

In the 1881 census (as Henry Mathews sic) aged 20, born in Churt, single, employed as a gardener, and a lodger with Charles and Mary Earls (aged 61 and 63 born in Ashford and Egham) at Percy Cottage, Ashford, Middlesex (now Surrey) and another lodger Water Hyanison aged 19.

Cannot find an entry in the 1891 census.

In the 1901 census (as Henry Matthews) aged 40, born in Churt, single, employed as a police constable, and living at the Police Section House, 82 Charing Cross Road (presumably London).

Relationship

I am his first cousin twice removed and his third cousin twice removed.
