His brother was born in Park Lane, Witley in 1816, parents John and Sarah. I cannot find an entry for the marriage of John and Mary and I assume Mary was entered in error instead of Sarah.

His son was christened in Shalford in 1843.
In the 1851 census as John Mansell aged 36, birth place not known, a wheelwright, and living with his wife (Eliza), and two sons (George and William) at Quarry Hill, Shalford, Surrey.
In the 1861 census as John Mansel (sic - on the original) aged 46, born in Whikley, Surrey, a wheelwright and living with his wife (Eliza), and two sons (George and William) at Quarry Hill, Shalford, Surrey. A note states it was actually in Guildford Borough.
In the 1871 census as John Mansell aged 56, born in Witley, Surrey, a wheelwright, and living with his wife (Eliza) in Quarry Street, Shalford, Surrey.
Death of John Mansell in FreeBMD in October-December 1880 aged 66 in Hambledon (2a 81).
